Limbs and branches
Limbs and branches will be picked up the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of April through November. Limbs and branches will not be picked up from December to March. Please place pile neatly at the curb with the cut end toward the direction of traffic. Branches may be set out no earlier than 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and no later than 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. This will eliminate branches laying out at the curb during the week. Large branches and limbs only, not to exceed 8 inches in diameter. Please leave branches long, do not cut them up. No small branches or sticks for this endangers employees when they load the chipper. Also no branches with dirt, stones or metal in them as this will destroy the chipper. Roots and stumps must be cut off, we do not chip or pick up these items.
In the event of a major storm that necessitates a limb and branch pickup, a special collection will be announced.
Christmas tree pickup will be scheduled in January. Dates will be announced on the City website and in the Williamston Enterprise. |

Leaf pick-up in the Fall only (No Leaf Pick-up in the Spring)
Because leaves will have to be picked up using a front end loader, we ask that leaves be placed in the street along the edge except on Grand River Ave. If leaves are not in the street (except for Grand River Ave) the City will not pick them up.
For residents along Grand River Ave., kindly put leaves in the area between curb and sidewalk, and not in the street. Employees from the Department of Public Works will move leaves into the street as they drive by for pick up. Questions can be referred to the DPW by phone at 655-2221. |
